Following their historic victory against England in Rawalpindi, Sri Lanka has advanced to 6th place in the ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings, pushing England down in the process.

According to the ICC rankings, Sri Lanka has accumulated 3,896 points from 41 matches, resulting in a rating of 95.

Consequently, Sri Lanka now sits ahead of Afghanistan—who hold 7th place with a rating of 94—and England, who have dropped to 8th place with a rating of 93.

India leads the rankings with a rating of 115, followed by New Zealand (109), South Africa (104), Pakistan (103), and Australia (102) in the subsequent positions. These new rankings have been released following Sri Lanka’s successful chase of a 430-run target against England—a feat that marks the second-highest successful run chase in the history of men’s One Day International (ODI) cricket.

The latest rankings, updated on October 23, confirm that Sri Lanka has moved up to 6th place. In the rankings released on October 18, the team had been in 7th position.
