Afghanistan has managed to advance to the 6th position in the latest ICC ODI team rankings.
Notably, this marks the highest-ever ranking Afghanistan has achieved in the history of ODI cricket.
Afghanistan was already ranked above teams such as Bangladesh, England, and the West Indies; according to the latest updated rankings, they have now also surpassed Sri Lanka.
Consequently, Sri Lanka—which previously held the 6th position—has now moved to 7th place.
