Chamari Atapattu-led Sri Lanka Women’s Team today recorded a 6-wicket victory in the first Twenty20 (WT20I) match of the Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team’s tour of Sri Lanka. In this match held at the Rangiri International Stadium in Dambulla, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bowl first. Accordingly, Pakistan Women’s Team, which entered the field, managed to score a strong score of 176 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Shawal Zulfiqar scored 63 runs and Muniba Ali scored 42 runs for Pakistan. Kavisha Dilhari bowled brilliantly for Sri Lanka, taking 2 wickets for 36 runs. Chasing a mammoth target of 177 runs, Sri Lanka lost their first wickets, but Imesh Dulani was able to launch a superb innings that will be written in golden letters in the history of Sri Lankan women’s cricket. She scored an unbeaten 101 runs off just 64 balls, hitting 17 fours and one six, to score her maiden T20I century. Skipper Chamari Atapattu laid a solid foundation for the innings with a quickfire 39 runs off 22 balls. Accordingly, Sri Lanka Women won the match by scoring 177 runs for the loss of only 4 wickets in 19 overs, taking a 3-0 lead in the ongoing T20 series. Imesh Dulani, who scored a superb century, won the Man of the Match award.
