Former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran passed away on Tuesday after battling a rare blood disorder, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed.

He was 38 years old at the time of his death.

It was revealed that Zadran had been suffering from the rare disease a few months ago and died while undergoing treatment in a hospital in India.

Shapoor Zadran has made an indelible mark as a left-arm fast bowler who played a significant role in building Afghanistan’s cricket in the early days of international cricket.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board, which says that Shapoor Zadran was a great figure who laid the foundation of Afghan cricket, stated in its condolence message that his dedication, passion and contribution to the national team and the development of the game will forever be written in golden letters in the history of Afghan cricket.
