England captain Harry Brook has entered the record books today as the player to score the fastest double century in a one-day cricket match.
He achieved this feat during a match against Sri Lanka in a triangular one-day cricket tournament, reaching the 200-run mark in just 114 balls.
He scored a total of 202 runs, an innings that included 21 fours and 10 sixes.
With this, the record previously held by India’s Shubman Gill—who scored a double century off 117 balls against the West Indies on the 30th of last month—has been broken.
Batting first, England posted a total of 429 runs for the loss of 4 wickets by the end of their 50 overs.
