India secured a comprehensive 8-wicket victory in the first T20I match against the West Indies.
Batting first at the Lucknow stadium, the West Indies posted a total of 171 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.
In the run chase, Shreyas Iyer played a captain’s knock, scoring his maiden T20I century (102*) off 43 balls, featuring a flurry of fours and sixes.
Fueled by Iyer’s explosive innings, India successfully chased down the target of 172 runs in just 14.4 overs for the loss of only two wickets. With this win, India took a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series.
