The owner of the Jaffna Kings team in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) cricket tournament has been arrested by the Police Special Investigation Unit for the Prevention of Offences in the Sports Sector on match-fixing allegations.
The arrest was made as the Lanka Premier League 2026 tournament was set to officially begin today (17), police confirmed.
