A two-time Asian Games champion and India's national record holder, Tejinderpal Singh Toor has once again proven that his presence on the big stage guarantees a fierce battle. He clinched the silver medal with a magnificent throw of 20.64 meters.After winning gold in Jakarta (2018) and successfully defending that title in Hangzhou (2022), Toor has once again made it to the podium. This marks his third consecutive Asian Games medal—a testament to his remarkable consistency. His career-best throw stands at 21.77 meters, a national record set in 2023.Hailing from an ordinary family in Moga, Punjab, Tejinderpal Singh Toor’s athletic journey began with a transition from cricket to shot put. Coach Mohinder Singh Dhillon’s rigorous training, combined with relentless hard work and a steely determination to hone his strength, gradually transformed him into one of India's finest shot putters.He may not have worn the gold medal around his neck today, but Toor’s fight is far from over. Every throw launched from the shot put circle seems to declare: a champion does not merely win gold—they return time and again to script a story of enduring excellence.
Australian Women’s Cricket Team to Visit Dambulla in December for Series Against Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka Cricket has announced that the Australian women's national cricket team will visit Sri Lanka in December 2026 for a tour comprising three One Day International (ODI) matches. This series will be played as part of the 2025–2029 ICC Women's Championship. The Australian team is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka on December 10. All three matches will be held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, with the ODIs scheduled for December 15, 18, and 20.
Tickets Sold Out for Third Sri Lanka vs. England ODI
It is reported that all tickets for the third and final ODI between Sri Lanka and England have been sold out.The match is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 3:00 PM (local time) at The Oval in London.As both teams have won one match each and are currently level, the winner of tomorrow's match will clinch the series.

Four more countries qualified today for the quarter-finals of the men's cricket tournament at the Asian Games.Based on the results of the preliminary round matches, Nepal and Afghanistan (from Group A), along with Malaysia and Hong Kong (from Group B), have secured their spots in the quarter-finals.Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh had already secured direct entry into the quarter-finals.Consequently, Sri Lanka will face Nepal in the quarter-final match.This will mark the first time Sri Lanka plays an international T20 match against Nepal.A match between Sri Lanka and Nepal was previously scheduled for the 2024 T20 World Cup, but it was abandoned due to rain. The match between Sri Lanka and Nepal is scheduled to begin at 5:30 AM (local time) on the 29th.The first quarter-final match will be played between Pakistan and Hong Kong, while the second quarter-final will take place between India and Afghanistan. The fourth quarter-final will be contested between Bangladesh and Malaysia.

Sri Lanka's Kalinga Kumarage qualified for the final of the men's 400m event at the 2026 Asian Games today.He achieved this by clocking a time of 45.74 seconds in the second preliminary round race held today in Nagoya, Japan.He secured third place in that preliminary round race.Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's Kalhara Indupa, who competed in the third preliminary round race, clocked a time of 46.53 seconds but failed to qualify for the final.
Sri Lanka’s Chanithma Defeats Chinese Player at Asian Games
Sri Lanka's Chanithma Sinali secured a brilliant victory in the Round of 32 of the women's singles squash event. Displaying a competitive and aggressive style of play, she defeated China's Liu Ziyi in a match that went to five games. Although Chanithma won the first game 11-9 but lost the second and third games 6-11 and 3-11 respectively, she staged a strong comeback to win the final two games 11-4 and 11-4, thereby clinching the victory for Sri Lanka.
