The International Cricket Council has made a change in the cricket rule book whereby the TV umpire will not check a catch when the on-field umpire makes a stumping appeal.

This amendment will come into effect from 12 December 2023, and now a team will have to refer the third umpire to the stumps after being stumped by the wicket-keeper and if it wants to inquire whether the wicket-keeper has been caught as a catch, it will have to be done separately through the DRS.
