It is reported that former Sri Lankan fast bowler Chaminda Vaas has been appointed as the fast-bowling coach for the Delhi Capitals team in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
If confirmed, this will mark his first coaching role in the IPL.
Former Indian spinner Amit Mishra is also set to join the Delhi Capitals coaching staff, which operates under the leadership of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.
Additionally, reports indicate that former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is also part of this coaching panel.
Vaas, the most successful fast bowler in Sri Lankan cricket history—having claimed 355 Test wickets and 400 ODI wickets—previously represented the Deccan Chargers in the IPL for three seasons between 2008 and 2010. Currently 52 years old, Vaas possesses extensive international coaching experience and has served as the bowling coach for the Sri Lanka national men’s cricket team on several occasions.
Having begun his professional coaching career as a coaching consultant for the New Zealand national team, Vaas also worked with the Ireland team during the 2016 T20 World Cup.
