The official Player Draft for the Lanka Premier League (LPL 2026) T20 cricket tournament organized by Sri Lanka Cricket will be held on June 1, the organizers have announced.
It is noteworthy that more than 650 foreign players have registered for this year’s tournament.
More than 650 foreign players are participating in the 6th edition of the LPL tournament, which clearly shows the international attention that is being paid to the tournament.
Players representing 21 cricket-playing countries that are full members and associate members of the ICC have registered this year.
The highest number of players has been registered from Pakistan.
That number is 102.
In addition, players from West Indies (75), South Africa (66), Bangladesh (48), New Zealand (41), Australia (24), England (15) and India (12) are also participating.
Despite the large number of players registered, only 310 players will be included in the official draft after a special screening process.
All arrangements are in place to hold the Lanka Premier League 2026 tournament from July 17 to August 8.
This is Sri Lanka’s premier domestic T20 cricket festival with the participation of foreign players.
