The National Sports Council has named former national team captain Tamim Iqbal as the interim chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after the National Sports Council dissolved the elected representatives of the Bangladesh Cricket Board led by Aminul Islam.
National Sports Council Sports Director Aminul Ehsan informed the media at a press conference held this afternoon (07).
The council had earlier revealed that several irregularities had been found in the Bangladesh Cricket Board elections held on October 6 last year.
Director Aminul said that they had submitted the report to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and informed the World Cricket Board about the formation of the 11-member interim committee.
The committee will organize a new election for the Bangladesh Cricket Board within 90 days.
Accordingly, the 11-member interim committee consists of: Tamim Iqbal (Chairman), Rashna Imam, Miza Yasir Abbas, Syed Ibrahim Ahmed, Israfil Khosru, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Athar Ali Khan, Tanvir Chowdhury, Salman Ispahani, Rafiqul Ispahani, Rafiqul Islam Babu.
