The third day of the second Test cricket match between Bangladesh and Ireland in Dhaka was affected by an earthquake today.

The epicenter of the earthquake, which measured 5.5 on the Richter scale, was reported to have occurred near the town of Madhabdi, located 40 kilometers east of Dhaka.

The earthquake forced the match to be suspended for about three minutes.

The earthquake, which occurred at around 10.38 Bangladesh time, caused the restrooms of both teams to be empty. Spectators also quickly left the auditoriums, and foreign media reported that people in the five-story media building also quickly left.

The strength of the earthquake was also felt in the Indian city of Kolkata.
