Sri Lankan left-handed batsman Sonal Dinusha has been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month award for August, following his outstanding batting performance during the World Test Championship series against India.
He has been nominated alongside England fast bowler Ollie Robinson and Bangladesh’s Hasan Mahmud.
Across the two Test matches played against India, he amassed a total of 420 runs, including two centuries and an unbeaten 133.
He maintained an incredible batting average of 140.00; in the first Test at Galle, he scored a century and 84 runs in the second innings, while in the second Test in Colombo, he scored 103 and an unbeaten 133, playing a pivotal role in securing a draw for the team. Meanwhile, Ollie Robinson spearheaded England to a magnificent 2-0 series victory against Pakistan, claiming 16 wickets (8/80 and 8/35) across two Test matches while maintaining an incredible bowling average of 7.18.
