The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued an official reprimand to Indian opening batter Shafali Verma and added one demerit point to her disciplinary record.
This follows a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during the second T20 International against Zimbabwe, specifically for violating Article 2.2.
The penalty was imposed after Shafali Verma, expressing frustration following a dropped catch during the 12th over of the Zimbabwe innings, threw the ball onto the ground in an aggressive manner.
As Shafali has accepted both the charge and the sanction, no further formal hearing will take place.
