He filed the complaint seeking a mandatory interim order compelling the Sri Lanka Cricket to issue him a “no objection” certificate to enable him to participate in international Premier League matches, including the 2026 Indian Premier League.
Attorney G.G. Arulpragasam, appearing for the complainant, stated in court that the complaint had to be filed due to the Sri Lanka Cricket’s refusal to issue a “no objection” certificate to allow him to participate in the IPL cricket tournament in India.
However, the lawyer requested permission from the court, stating that his client intended to withdraw the complaint as several matches of the IPL cricket tournament had already been concluded and it was futile to continue the complaint.
After considering the facts, the judge allowed the complaint to be withdrawn and then dismissed it.
