Allegations have emerged that staff from the airline Ryanair subjected former Sri Lankan cricket star Kumar Sangakkara and his family members to discriminatory treatment at Dublin Airport in Ireland.
In a post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Sangakkara described the incident as “shocking” and “completely unacceptable.”
Stating that he and his family were treated in a discriminatory manner by Ryanair gate staff at Dublin Airport, Sangakkara questioned whether other passengers had encountered similar experiences.
“Have you also experienced such discriminatory treatment from Ryanair gate staff in Dublin? My family and I just went through this. It is shocking,” he wrote. Sangakkara also criticized the way the staff spoke to his family members, alleging that established procedures were not properly followed and that the staff behaved in a threatening manner.
“Such treatment of any passenger is unacceptable. This is the first negative experience I have had in Dublin,” Sangakkara stated.
