It is being reported that Indian players are scheduled to play in the sixth edition of the 2025 Sri Lanka Premier League cricket tournament.
Indian media has reported that this was stated in a statement issued by the LPL organizers.
If so, this will be the first time that the players currently playing for the Indian team will play in the Sri Lanka Premier League.
Previously, players who played for the Indian team in the LPL tournaments but had retired from international cricket had played because the Board of Control for Cricket in India did not allow Indian national players to play in foreign league tournaments other than the IPL.
The 2025 Lanka Premier League is scheduled to begin on December 1st, and is planned to be held during this period as a warm-up for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup.
The tournament will feature a total of 24 matches, including 20 league matches and 4 final matches.
Matches will be held at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Pallekele in Kandy and Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
