Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), as part of its continued efforts to support the development of cricket
among Associate Nations, facilitated the Japan Under-19 Cricket Team’s tour of Sri Lanka.
As part of the tour arrangements, SLC provided Under-17 District teams to compete against
the visiting Japanese team in five 50-over matches.
Sri Lanka Cricket also facilitated practice and match facilities for the touring team, including
grounds, match officials, and scorers, ensuring the team had the necessary support throughout
the tour.
During the tour, the Japanese Under-19 team also met with the Chairman of the Sri Lanka
Cricket Transformation Committee, Mr. Eran Wickramaratne.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Reo Sakurano, Head Coach of the Japan Under-19 Team;
Mr. Duncan Harrison, Team Manager; and Mr. Priyantha Kariyapperuma, Goodwill
Ambassador of the Japan Cricket Association.
The tour forms part of Sri Lanka Cricket’s ongoing efforts to support the development of the
game internationally by sharing its cricketing resources and expertise with emerging cricket
nations.
