
The 2025 Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament begins today (09). The tournament is scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates until September 28.
For the first time, eight teams are participating in the tournament. This is an increase of two teams from the previous tournament.
This time, Sri Lanka will compete in Group “B”. The other countries included in that group are Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Afghanistan.
India and Pakistan will compete under Group A, and the preliminary round match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be held on the 14th. Group “A” also includes Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
The tournament will be held for 17 days, and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 4 round.
The top two teams from the Super 4 round will qualify for the final on September 28.
This year’s tournament will be played in the T20I format, taking into account the T20 World Cup scheduled for next year.
