Sri Lankan youth table tennis player Taavi Samaraweera has won two gold and bronze medals at the WTT Youth Contender Otočec 2026 tournament held in Slovenia.
It is noteworthy that Taavi won the gold medal in his age group, Under 11, and the bronze medal in the Under 13 event, which is older than him, at this tournament held from August 25 to 27.
Taavi, who is only 11 years old, has won both these medals in the same international tournament.
It is also noteworthy that he has won the Under 11 championship in a WTT Youth Contender tournament for the fourth consecutive time in 2026.
This tournament is an official World Youth Ranking tournament held under the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

With this victory, Taavi has been able to further elevate Sri Lanka’s name in the international youth table tennis arena.
