
Musaeus College, Colombo, a rising force in school tennis, clinched the desired overall Girls’ Best Tennis Playing Schools Award at the All Island Inter School Tennis Tournament 2025, reaffirming their supremacy in the sport.
Organised in memory of the late tennis player Arjan Perera, the admired tournament drew the participation of 254 teams on behalf of 60 schools across the island. The competition was detained at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) headquarters under the administration of the national tennis governing body.
Musaeus girls carried a series of impressive performances across multiple age categories and divisions. In the Division One, the school secured the Overall Championship, won the Under-18 Girls’ Championship and emerged Runners-up in the Under-12 category.
They also claimed third place in the Under-14 Girls’ segment and were Runners-up in the Under-16 Girls’ event.
In Division Two, the Musaeus Under-12 team earned Runners-up honours and in Division Three the school was victory Girls’ Under-18 Champions.
The tournament, a key event in the schools’ sports calendar, tinted the growing depth and quality of school-level tennis in Sri Lanka. Musaeus College’s triumph was a testament to its devotion, training culture and structured development program which has consistently nurtured young talent and paved the way for future national contenders.
