Sri Lanka’s talented Dilanma Ransini Perera stunned the entire Asia at the 2026 Asian Under-20 (U20) Athletics Championships, winning the women’s 200m title.
Born from Dharmapala College, Pannipitiya, this amazing athletics star, Dilanma Ransini Perera, won the gold medal for Sri Lanka by completing the race in a dazzling time of 24.07 seconds. Dilanma’s fast leap stunned all other countries in Asia.
This victory is more valuable than an ordinary medal because this is the first time Sri Lanka has won a gold medal in the women’s 200m event in the history of Asian Junior/U20 Athletics since the historic record set by our country’s fastest woman, Susanthika Jayasinghe, in 1994.
