Returning to club football following the controversy surrounding the Portuguese national team, Cristiano Ronaldo rediscovered his form by scoring a goal for Al-Nassr. Ronaldo, who did not even take the field as a substitute during the match against Norway, had left the Portugal camp during the Nations League break. However, he clarified that he had not retired from international football, while describing the incident involving Portugal coach Jorge Jesus as a serious breach of trust.
Yet, upon his return to club football, CR7 received tremendous support from Al-Nassr fans! They paid tribute to Ronaldo with a massive banner displayed at the stadium before the match against Diriyah, bearing the message: “Greatness is earned – CR7, All-Time Top Scorer in Football History.” In the 23rd minute of the match, although the opposing goalkeeper saved a shot from Kingsley Coman, Ronaldo scored Al-Nassr’s opening goal by directing the rebound into the net! With this goal, his tally of goals in official matches during his professional football career rose to 980. Now, his next goal is to become the first player in history to score 1,000 goals in official matches!
Subsequently, Samu Costa scored with a header from a corner kick delivered by Joao Felix, and Coman added the third goal in the 77th minute. Consequently, Al-Nassr won the match 3-0.
