Praveena Perera, representing the Sri Lanka Police Women’s Football Team, was awarded the Golden Boot for emerging as the tournament’s highest goal scorer at the Open Women’s Futsal Football Tournament held at the Boralesgamuwa Club Fusion Indoor Futsal Stadium on 13.06.2026.
She delivered an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, scoring a total of 11 goals.
The Sri Lanka Police Women’s Football Team advanced to the semi-finals, where they faced the Renown Football Team, a side comprising the captain and several members of the Sri Lanka National Women’s Football Team. Following a closely contested encounter, the Police team was defeated 2–1 in the penalty shootout.
Despite the semi-final defeat, Praveena Perera’s exceptional performance was widely recognized, and she was also awarded the Best Player of the Semi-final, highlighting her significant contribution and skill throughout the competition.
