The host USA won their first match of the FIFA World Cup. The Americans dominated the entire match and easily won a 4-1 victory over Paraguay.
The Americans got their chance in the 6th minute of the match, when Paraguay’s Damian Bobadilla scored an own goal. The Americans took a 1-0 lead.
Not stopping there, American superstar Folarin Balogun, who continued to launch an aggressive style of play, added the first goal in the 30th minute of the match and the second goal in the extra time of the first half (45+4′), turning the entire stadium upside down. Thanks to Balogun’s skill, the United States had taken complete control of the match by the end of the first half.
However, Paraguay’s Maurício, who came on in the 72nd minute of the match, tried to give some life to the match by scoring a consolation goal for them, making the score 3-1. However, Paraguay was not allowed to break through the American defense and do anything more.
The United States did not give up the match until the last second of the match. With the match almost over, in the 90+7′ extra minute, Giovanni Reyna scored the fourth goal for the United States, completely destroying Paraguay’s hopes.
