MAS Holdings put on a stellar show to lay their hands on four championship titles in multiple categories at the in recent times finished Mercantile Volleyball Tournament at the Sir Albert F Peiris Sports Complex, Wennappuwa.
The two-day tourney had some of Sri Lanka’s best players in action with plenty of promise shown for the future of what is thought to be the national sport.
The MAS women’s squad were a class apart as they proved their dominance by securing the first place titles in the Masters, Championship and the Super League categories while the men’s A-Division title was also secured by MAS as well.

In the finals MAS Casualline beat Maliban 25-09 and 25-14 to clinch a 2-0 clean sweep.

In a tough grand finale, Unichela staged a superb comeback in the second (25-18) and third (25-17) sets after losing out in the first set (25-21) against Brandix Apparel Essentials to lift the title after a tense 2-1 victory.
