
The Uva Provincial Sports Complex Indoor Stadium was opened yesterday (June 01) in Bandarawela under the patronage of Ministers Sunil Kumara Gamage, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Ruwan Ranasinghe, Deputy Minister of Tourism.
This Provincial Sports Complex Indoor Stadium was built by the Sports Development Department with an area of about 1,188 square meters, at a cost of about 300 million rupees, with all the facilities and state support, to promote the skills of athletes in the Uva Province.
Simultaneously, the Cricket Development Project implemented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports provided cricket kits worth Rs. 03 lakhs per school to 14 selected schools in the Badulla district, and a demonstration netball competition was also held.
Member of Parliament Ravindra Bandara, Director General of the Department of Sports Development Shemal Fernando, Provincial Sports Directors, District Sports Officers, Pradeshiya Sabha Secretaries and others participated in this event.
