One of our little girls has managed to raise the name of Sri Lanka to the top in the “World Martial Arts Championship 2026” held in Pattaya, Thailand on the last 19th, 20th and 21st of June.
Her name is T.W. Metuli Umalja. This little athlete, who is still studying in the 07th year of the school, winning two medals for Sri Lanka in the midst of many strong fighters in the world is truly a unique achievement.
Methuli represented Sri Lanka under 12 years of age in this international tournament and brought pride to Sri Lanka in two events:
Elementary Jianshu Event – Gold Medal: She was the first in the world to win the gold medal in this difficult event, which was associated with martial arts swordsmanship techniques.
Elementary Changquan Event – Silver Medal: In this event, which includes offensive and defensive techniques of martial arts, the country won the silver medal by winning the second place in the midst of fierce competition.
