A special meeting was held today (11th) at the Ministry premises between the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, Maj. Gen. (R) Dr. Nayyar Naseer, and the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Hon. Sunil Kumara Gamage.

The Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, Dinidu Saman Hennayake, along with several senior ministry officials, also participated in the discussion.

Confirming the long-standing friendship between the two nations, extensive discussions were held regarding upcoming Youth Exchange Programs. Both parties reached an agreement to enter into an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate the exchange of skills and experiences among the youth of both countries.

Furthermore, attention was focused on cooperation for the promotion of the sports sector. Ideas were exchanged regarding the organization of bilateral cricket matches and obtaining Pakistan’s support for the development of sports infrastructure.

The primary objective of this discussion was to create a significant leap in the youth and sports sectors while further strengthening the existing ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka
