Sri Lanka Indoor Rowing Nationals took place for the 3rd consecutive year at Diyawanna Rowing Centre on 30th and 31st January 2026. The event was organized by the Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka.
There were over 500 athletes, representing schools, universities, Rowing Clubs and tri-forces, taking part in this event. The races were held under predefined age groups of under 14, 16, 19 .23 and open , in individual and relay events.
Visakha Vidyalaya Rowing Team, lead by their captain Anusara Akmeemana and vice captain Thisali Welage, performed exceptionally well in all age categories. They were capable to secure the Championship titles of both Junior and Senior categories for the 3rd consecutive year. (Senior category championship was shared with the Sri Lanka Army, Women’s under 23 team).
A relatively young team to the rowing arena, the Visakhians proved their way to victory through sheer grit, discipline and team work. They won a total of 6 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze medal.
