The match schedule for the 2026 T20 World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka and India is scheduled to be released in Mumbai today (25).
The preliminary round of the tournament, which will be held from February 7 to March 8, will feature three matches per day, according to Cricinfo.
India and Pakistan will once again be competing in the same group this time. The two countries will meet each other on February 15 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
According to information revealed by the Cricinfo website, India’s other opponents in the preliminary round are the United States (February 7), Namibia (February 12) and the Netherlands (February 18).
All of Pakistan’s matches in the 20-nation tournament will be played in Sri Lanka.
The preliminary round will be played in four groups of five teams, with the top two teams in each group qualifying for the Super 8 round. The Super 8 round will be played in two groups of four teams each.
If India qualify for the Super 8 round, their matches will be played in Ahmedabad, Chennai and Kolkata, while if they qualify for the semi-finals, the match will be played in Mumbai.
The other semi-final will be held in Kolkata or Colombo. The venue will be decided based on whether Sri Lanka or Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals.
The final is scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad, but if Pakistan qualifies, the match will be held in Colombo.
