Three Sri Lanka junior players qualified to the semi-finals of the ATF Under-14 Week 2 tennis tournament when they came out on top in the quarter final encounters played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo recently.
Nethuli Naotunne and Navya Banagala were the two girls to make it to the semis along with Nileish Brahman in the boys’ group. 

Nethuli beaten Harithiswari Chinnanavanam of India and Navya overcame Sri Lanka’s Sheshandri Fernando while Nileish overcame Sonal Wijetunga of Sri Lanka with the trio coming out winners by two sets to nil.

The other two girls to make it to the semis were Dhrutee Gundu and Saumya Choudhary both of India beating two Sri Lankans Risindi Hewawasam and Kiara Jayamanne while Cameron Prattley of Hong Kong, Nihal Reddy of India and Alexandra Mikheichev of Cambodia made it to the semis.

The semi-finals are planned to be played today with Nethuli meeting Navya and Dhrutee confronting Saumya in the girls’ category. Nileish and Cameron will clash against Reddy and Alexandra in the boys’ category.
