
Sewmini Fernando of Lyceum, Wattala gained a silver Medal and Lahiru Achintha of St. Aloysius’ College, Ratnapura won a bronze Medal on the second day of the Sixth Asian under 18 Youth Athletic Championship 2025 held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia yesterday.
Sri Lanka has now gained two silver medals and one bronze medal at this meet, lead by Asian Athletics.
Sewmini won the silver medal in the Under-18 Girls’ 100m with a time of 11.92s though Lahiru won the bronze medal in the Boys’ 1,500m with a time of 3:59.47s.
The gold medal in the Girls’ Under-18 100m event was gained by Zhang Qian of China with a finishing time of 11.80s.
The gold medal in the Boys’ 1,500m event was won by Mubarak Said of Qatar with a time of 3:57.90s.
