The International Cricket Council (ICC) has welcomed the declaration of Fairgrounds in Pomona, Southern California, as the official location for cricket at the 2028 Los Angeles (LA) Olympics.

Cricket wills reappearance to the Olympics after 128 years, with 6 men’s and 6 women’s teams competing in the T20 format.

ICC Chair Jay Shah stated excitement about the venue confirmation and highlighted the opportunity to grow the sport’s global appeal.

Cricket was added to LA28 during an IOC session in Mumbai in 2023, joining baseball/softball, flag football, lacrosse, and squash as new add-ons.

The sport’s T20 format has recently been featured in multi-sport events like the Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games.
