Sri Lanka’s gifted athlete Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage accomplished the world’s best performance in the Men’s javelin throw event so far this year at the Perth Track Classic detained in Australia recently.

Therefore, the talented Sri Lankan athlete grabbed the spotlight with a world-leading throw of 85.41 meters in the Men’s javelin event.

India’s javelin thrower Sachin Yadav, who had formerly recorded the longest throw of the year, came in second with a distance of 84.39 metres.

Though, Rumesh Tharanga missed the qualification standard required to directly qualify for the World Athletics Championships in Japan by just 9 centimetres.
