Team Sri Lanka was officially welcomed to the Athletes’ Plaza on 18th September, during Session 9 of the Welcome Ceremonies, alongside teams from Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
The ceremony marked a special moment for Team Sri Lanka, with the Organising Committee presenting a commemorative plaque to the delegation. In return, Sri Lanka presented its own plaque, together with a taste of one of the island’s most recognisable treasures, Ceylon Tea, proudly provided by our Official Tea Partner, Tea Avenue.
Traditional performances and a tree planting session added to the celebrations as the teams came together in the spirit of the Asian Games.
