The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction is scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (16).
According to an IPL statement, the auction will be held for 350 players, which is scheduled to begin at 1pm UAE time at the Etihad Stadium.
The list of players for the auction has been finalized so far, which is far short of the 1,390 players who registered for the auction.
Of the 350 players shortlisted, 240 are Indians and 110 are foreign players.
This year’s auction includes 224 players and 14 foreign players.
Seventy-seven spots are available for the 10 teams, of which 31 are reserved for overseas players.
Twelve Sri Lankan cricketers have also been included in the list.
Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi are the only two Indians among the 40 players listed at a maximum base price of Rs 2 crore.
Sri Lankan cricketers Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana and Mahesh Theekshana are listed in this category.
Of the remaining 310 players, nine players are in the Rs 1.5 crore category, while four players have chosen a guaranteed price of Rs 1.25 crore.
17 players have chosen a guaranteed price of Rs 1 crore.
Forty-two players are in the Rs 75 lakh bracket, while four are in the Rs 50 lakh bracket.
Seven players have a reserve price of Rs 40 lakh, while the largest group of 227 players is in the Rs 30 lakh bracket.
South Africa’s Quinton de Kock is a late addition to the list after a request from the team.
He will be a valuable player, given his performance in the third ODI in Visakhapatnam, scoring a century.
Although the team ultimately lost that match and the series 2-1, de Kock’s base price is Rs 1 crore.
That is half the base price of Rs 2 crore he had in the previous mega auction.
Another expensive pick will be Australian all-rounder Cameron Green.
He is registered as a batsman and has been the subject of interest as teams look for a strong all-rounder.
George Linde and Sri Lanka’s Dunith Wellalage were also later added to the list.
