Upamalika Ravihari Secures 7th Place in Asian Games Weightlifting with a New National Record

Competing in the Women’s 49kg ‘Final A’ event at the 20th Asian Games (Aichi-Nagoya 2026), Sri Lanka’s Upamalika Ravihari secured 7th place overall while setting a new national record.
During the competition, she lifted 70kg in the Snatch event and established the new national record by lifting 91kg in the Clean & Jerk event, bringing her total lifted weight to 161kg.
Achieving such a feat and setting a national record amidst the high-level competition of the Asian Games ‘Final A’ stage clearly demonstrates the athlete’s technical dedication and mental focus.
