At the age when she should be playing, India’s amazing talent Elina Mishra from Odisha made history on the 64-square chess board. Elina has become the youngest female FIDE-rated chess player by achieving a FIDE rating at the age of just 4 years 6 months and 16 days.
Her ๐๐น๐ถ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฎ, ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฑ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฌ๐ฏ๐ณ88๐ฏ๐ฌ. Born on February 15, 2022. In blitz chess, where quick decisions, quick thinking and the ability to make the right moves under pressure are very important, achieving a rating at such a young age is a testament to Elina’s talent. Even more amazingโElina is the only female chess player born in 2022 or later to have a FIDE rating in any format.
Elina’s journey is no less exciting. In 2025, she came second in the U-5 women’s category in a FIDE-rated competition, and in 2026, she became the champion of the Odisha State U-7 Women’s Chess Championship. Elina’s mother Chandrima Ghosh expressed her gratitude to everyone who stood by her and helped her on this journey.
