Purna Kahingala has put Sri Lanka on the world map in gold at the UMWF (United Masters Weightlifting Federation) Senior Weightlifting Championships held in Adelaide, Australia. Competing in the 94kg weight class in the 50-55 age group, he set a new world record in the Clean and Jerk category, which is truly historic. Showing such a feat in front of the international community shows his high level of dedication and discipline.
