
A meeting was held between Korean Ambassador Myeon Lee and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage at the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports today (24). Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Tillakaratne participated in the meeting.
The main discussion was on popularizing Taekwondo, a Korean martial art, in Sri Lanka, and discussions were also held on providing scholarships through the intervention of the Korean government.
The Korean Ambassador said that efforts can be made to empower the Sri Lankan youth by establishing vocational training centers in Sri Lanka and providing the necessary equipment for that. She also commented on the rapid popularity of K-culture, K-beauty, and K-pop in Sri Lanka.
