Defending champions Sri Lanka sustained their excellent form in the on-going 13th Senior Asian Netball Championship 2024, when they surpassed hosts India 81-31 in their third group match played at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, India on Sunday (20).

In the match Sri Lanka led by Dulangi Wannithileka, had taken control early winning the opening quarter 18-9 and had preserved their dominance heading into the break with a decisive 39-12 lead.

Subsequently the six-time title holders had continued to assert themselves clinching the third quarter 60-21.

The last quarter had followed a similar trajectory, with the Lankan ladies winning the contest 81-31 to be odds-on-favourites to defend their title.

Previous in the competition, Sri Lanka had swatted aside UAE 118-5 in imperious fashion in their group fixture played on Saturday (19) and Philippines 73-42 a day earlier.

Thus far in the tournament Thisala Algama and captain Wannithileka have stood out for Sri Lanka with their remarkable form.
