Nadeeka Ranasinghe turned the Glasgow Valley upside down at the Commonwealth Games, showcasing the true power of Sri Lanka in the boxing ring. In a fierce battle in the Women’s 51kg category, Nadeeka crushed the hopes of her home country, Scotland’s Brooke Neely, to win the round of 16 with a convincing 3-2 scoreline.
With this victory, Nadeeka qualified for the Quarter-Finals of the tournament. The main reason for Nadeeka’s victory was her unwavering focus and accurate punches, which she showed until the last second against the Scottish athlete, who received maximum support from the home crowd.
