2026 – The England National Powerlifting Championship 2026 was held recently at the Untilit Bowl Auditorium in Southampton, where Sri Lankan-born Suren Perera, who currently represents the current England team, won the gold medal by competing in the Open Classic category in the 59 kg weight class.
He displayed his skills by lifting 135 kg in the Bench Press event, 220 kg in the Deadlift event and 160 kg in the Squat event, for a total weight of 515 kg. It is also a specialty that Suren Perera also holds the current Bench Press event record in this tournament. The record was set in 2025 when a weight of 140.5KG was lifted. This championship is organized annually by the English Power Lifting Association, which is under the International Powerlifting Federation
