A formal meeting was held today at the Ministry premises between His Excellency Levan S. Dzhagaryan, the Russian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, and Hon. Sunil Kumara Gamage, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports. Hon. Dinudu Saman Hennayake, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, also participated in the session.
The discussion focused on further expanding the long-standing friendship between the two nations through the fields of youth development and sports.
Key Highlights:
Exchange Programs: Implementing specialized programs to exchange knowledge and experience between the youth and athletes of both countries.
Official Invitation to Russia: During the meeting, the Russian Ambassador officially invited Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage to participate in upcoming international forums scheduled to be held in Russia.
Sports Technology: Views were exchanged on acquiring advanced Russian sports technology and training methodologies to enhance Sri Lanka’s sports sector.
Ministry Secretary Mr. Aruna Bandara and senior ministry officials were present at the discussion, while Ms. Galina Kuklina, Second Secretary of the Russian Embassy, represented the Russian mission.
