Brothers Thehan and Methvan Wijemanne joined with victory to clinch the men’s Open Doubles title of the Yeti SSC Open tennis championship when they beaten the pair of Ganuka Fernando and Rehan Gunawardena in the final played at the SCC tennis courts in Colombo yesterday.
In the meantime in the junior category (Under 14) of the Singles event Navya Banagala along with Sahansa Damsiluni, Sheshandri Fernando and Dinethma Ekanayake gained their quarter final matches to book berths in the semi-finals while in the boys’ class of the same age group Chirath Subasinghe, Eshan Jayaweera, Yonal Dankumbura and Revan Amarasinghe made it to the semifinals by coming out on top in their quarter final matches.
