The official announcement that the “Celebrity Tapeball League 2026” tournament is planned to be held in Sri Lanka was made yesterday at the Sugathadasa Indoor Sports Complex under the patronage of the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage.
Sri Lanka Tapeball (SLT) and Super Sixty, a leading sports organization in the United States, have agreed to hold this indoor tournament in Sri Lanka in early 2026.
The tournament will feature popular actors, actresses and sportspersons from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The aim of the tournament is to promote sports tourism and popularize the game of Tapeball.
Sri Lanka Tapeball President Janath Punchihewa, Founder and Leader of Super Sixty (USA) Azhar Qasmi, Former Pakistan Cricket Captain Moin Khan, Film Actor Saud, Famous Sportsperson Nabeel Hashmi, Senior Vice President of Sri Lanka Tapeball Dumidu Hemal, General Secretary of Sri Lanka Tapeball Ruchini Liyanage participated in the event.
