Former Indian cricketer Piyush Chawla joins Jaffna for 2026 LPL

Former Indian cricketer Piyush Chawla has joined Jaffna for the 2026 Lanka Premier League (LPL) season.

The veteran spinner, who has represented India in both Test and limited-overs cricket, will bring a wealth of experience to the Jaffna squad ahead of the tournament.

Chawla has a long and successful domestic and regional Twenty20 cricket career, including several Indian Premier League (IPL) titles, and was also a member of the Indian squads that won the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2011 ICC World Cup.

As teams continue to strengthen their rosters ahead of the tournament, a number of local and international superstars are set to play in the 2026 LPL.
