A special workshop to inform Western Province school sports coaches about the registration of school students and athletes for the Colombo Marathon 2026 competition and the organization of the competition was held yesterday (September 01) at the Lanka Sabha Junior College Auditorium in Battaramulla.
This awareness program was conducted by Mr. Jayalal Rathnasooriya, a member of the Colombo Marathon Organizing Committee, and the rules and regulations related to the competition, how to register and the privileges available to the athletes were explained at length.
There is no charge for participating in the competition, and high-value cash prizes will be awarded to the winners who demonstrate outstanding performance.
Official Finisher Medals: Official medals will be awarded to all runners who successfully complete the 21 km (Half Marathon) and 42 km (Full Marathon) races.
Every registered runner will receive a free Colombo Marathon official T-Shirt.
Registration and Enquiries: The Organizing Committee requests that participants register as soon as possible as the extended registration deadline for the race ends on September 10th.
